For the first time in the tournament's illustrious history, the 2024 Mosconi Cup will be held in the Sunshine State from Saturday, November 30 to Tuesday, December 3. It looks to be one of the most fiercely contested events.

The growing World Nineball Tour and an alluring prize pool have increased competition for spots on Teams Europe and USA, with the winning squad expected to take home a whopping $40,000. The atmosphere at London's Alexandra Palace was electrifying last year, and it's anticipated that it will get even more so when Jayson Shaw and Skyler Woodward captain teams Europe and the USA, respectively, for the first time since 2005.

What is the Mosconi Cup?

The Mosconi Cup, named for the renowned American pool player Willie Mosconi, is a competition that matches the best nine-ball pool players from the United States and Europe against one another over the course of four days, much like the Ryder Cup in golf. Finding the winner is the competition's main objective.

Steve Davis and Jimmy White, two of the greatest snooker players of all time, were members of the eight-player European squad that competed in the competition that is currently being held for the thirty-first time. The tournament was first held in 1994 at the Roller Bowl in Romford.

2024 Mosconi Cup Event Format:

Each of Team USA's and Team Europe's captains will select five players to compete in the competition. There will be one singles match and two doubles matches on the first day of the Mosconi Cup. Prepare for two doubles and three singles matches on days two and three.

2nd Day: 2 x Doubles & 3 x Singles
Third Day: 2 x Doubles & 3 x Singles
Final Day: 5 x Singles
